Superb new show Secrets of Our Living Planet – bringing back happy memories of my own rainforest days but reminding me of one thing above all others: anyone who speaks of the ‘tranquility of the rainforest’ has never been in one. Day and night, the racket is tremendous.
And Chris is wearing jeans. In the rainforest? Chris, you are well-hard my friend – or possibly just soft in the head because denim in the jungle is sweaty and nasty and tends to lead to leeches and nappy-rash in awkward and embarassing places. I speak as one who knows.
I ended up standing behind Chris, in a queue for the scanners, at Heathrow airport last year… I couldn’t resist asking him where he was off to and to let him know I enjoyed his Springwatch programmes. He was really nice, and apparently off to Africa somewhere to seek out some bug or something! LOL

I love Springwatch and have a bit of a weird crush on Chris and Martin. I’m glad CP was nice, he seems nice, and anyone who loves The Smiths and Bowie that much can’t be all bad.
Thanks so much for the kind comments, I designed the covers myself from my own photos. It’s been a real rollercoaster ride with the novel, having been let down VERY badly by an agent and editor combo, I’ve decided to cock a snook at the lot of them and self-publish. Tomorrow. It’s a bit scary, tbh, but exciting too.
